i'm getting the AMD phenom 2 x4 black edition (3.2 GHz)

They are both the same chipset, so i recommend the first one because it is cheaper

they both would work, just make sure they have all the connections you need and more for expansion

also, make sure those phenom II x4 955's use socket AM3, otherwise it wont fit into your board

I would suggest the Asus board. Thy make great boards that are backed up by excellent customer service. It does support running in Crossfire.
