I don't like the graphics as much though. Although I haven't been able to find any benchmarks with the 250vs4850

Also, I have a case\optical drives\HDD\fans to use already. So I'm good in that department ;-)

Yes. that is an excellent setup. However, I would go with 1066 RAM, since it will only be a few dollars more. That is definitely an excellent mobo, and when paired with the 9600, it will scream. Mine can encode a DVD at 160 fps, and is only slowed down by the write speed of the Hard drive. The audio probably will take a little tinkering, but is great once you get it working. Plus it comes in a very cool box.:D

A very similar build but it's far better.

Mobo: ASRock K10N78
Video Card: HIS HD4850
PSU: OCZ StealthXStream 500 Watt
CPU: AMD Phenom X3 8650 2.3 GHz
Memory: Corsair 2X2GB DDR2 800

I really dont like ASrock, since their quality control is horrible.
Go with the x4. a triple core CPU is not really much better than a dual core, and way behind quad, so its stuck in limbo somewhere. Plus some programs will have trouble figuring out the 3 core. On my friend's there are a few programs that refuse to run because they think there is an error.
Glad you came to your senses and decided to try AMD though.

OK, I ordered my stuff. Sorry to tell you guys, but I went with Intel. You guys are really AMD fans though =P

I got an intel pentium dual core @ 2.5ghz
GTS250
Super Talent RAM
and This mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186146
as soon as I have some more money, I will invest in a better PSU (I got a rosewill, it's just for 2 or 3 months at most though)
and after that I plan on upgrading the processor to a quad core. I really appreciate the help you guys gave me, even though I didn't take alot of your advice :p

It looks like the E5200 is a decent CPU, when overclocked. But at stock speeds, the X2 7750 outperforms it in most benches.

Athlon X2 7750 vs. Intel E5200 OC & Value

I'm buying the E5200 because it's the lowest model of core 2 duo. As I stated, I want to use a core 2 duo eventually, but can't afford it right now. Therefore I'm gonna use this until I can upgrade. I'm not using it for the actual processor, but rather something to turn it all on and use the parts until I can get something better. Makes no sense to buy an AMD board and processor only to turn around and buy an Intel mobo and processor when I get money.
