Haha, ya... I don't have a incredible budget or anything, For my grad present I got just about a $1000 to upgrade my computer.

Yeah really! Heck, you'd be 3/4s of the way there for an i7 build, if you wanted! Personally, I'd do a Phenom build. You could have one heck of a system!

well, I got a good graphics card, power supply and hdd. And I hate water cooling system, they always turn into a mess. So i should get one of the better cases.

It's going to cost him around the same either way. The Phenom and i7 920 are closely matched in game, but the i7 is 50% faster clock for clock in editing and multitasking.
