Misconceptions regarding Apple and Mac OS

It is because Mac's used to excel at video editing / photo editing. Lucky for them that image stuck with them but its not true anymore since both Operating systems share the same hardware now.

They still do.

Last time I used an Apple computer I was quite impressed as how simple it was to learn the OS.
As for video and pictures editing, I guess that's why companies like Industrial Lights and Magic and Pixar use them.

I like to think macs as this

1700 dollar windows Laptop with overkill specs

Almost 2500 dollar mac with worse specs ALL AROUND i will give it a sleek design though

In this example, you are paying basically paying 700 dollars for an operating system. And even worse specs

Wowwww, never thought of it that way. LOL. That mac has 2 video cards. One decent one and another crappy one.

ok add on about 100 dollars for a another crappy laptop GFX card ha ha

600 dollars

Congratulations on comparing two completely different notebooks on specifications alone. That really added to the discussion, didn't it?

First of all, compare the actual size of the two. The Gateway almost weights twice as much as the MacBook Pro. For that difference, the Gateway had better have better specifications. Also add to the fact that the Gateway is a 17" inch notebook, while the MacBook Pro is sized at only 15" inches. Those differences alone should give you a hint that these notebooks are not meant to compete against each other.

The fact of the matter is, Mac will never come into the mainstream market. Only 6% of users actually have a mac right? Microsoft doesnt even have to bother releasing commercials, Apple isnt competition.

Your right, for nearly $730 less, that Gateway should have better specifications than the MacBook Pro.

Yeah, let's do another fair comparison.

Man, look at that, a $700 difference between two comparable notebooks. Dell really inflated the price there, huh? Makes Apple seem like a budget manufacturer, doesn't it?
