OverClocking VideoCard

Ok i would like to over clock my video card. Right now i want to practice overclocking my Geforce 8800Gt oc2, But was wondering if i should because i think its already overclocked because of the oc2.

Anyone since iam getting a Geforce 260 and people are telling me to overclock it i dont know how to overclock it so i was gona try to over clock my geforce 8800

This is a good graphics card overclocking tool. It's super simple. Just slide the bar in little increments until you can make the card as powerful as you can get it without it being unstable. http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.54.00.html

The latest ATI driver/software package should have an overclocking utility built in.

You could also use ATITool and RivaTuner. They also work on Nvidia cards too.

yupz yupsz, ya can use 'furmark' for testing stability and what not also.

I like EVGA's precision tool. I don't know if it works on non-EVGA cards.

i have it installed but all i know how to use is the fan control lol

Start with a single clock, so not try to overclock the memory and the core at the same time.
For example, start with the core clock, increase by 10MHz, run Furmark for a minute or so, if it's fine, increase another 10MHz. Continue this process with the core clock until Furmark starts getting artifacts, back off 10MHz and test again. This time, do a longer stability run of 20 min or so. You can use Furmark or graphically intensive game to pass the time quicker. If it's stable, move onto the memory clock and repeat the process.
