Dell XP product key problem

So I'm fixing this dell dimension 2400 and I am reinstalling windows. There is a product key on a sticker on the outside of the computer. I also ran magic jellybean keyfinder on the original installation and got a different product key so I wrote that down as well.

Now I'm trying to reinstall XP with a regular xp disc, not a dell disc and neither of the product keys work? What gives???

If the Dell computer has a Windows XP product key sticker somewhere on the case, just call Microsoft and tell them that you are trying to reinstall the OS to get a new key, it's usually automated and takes like 5 mins. Easy cheesy.
