im building a new computer and the last thing that i just cannot decide on is the GPU. these are two well build (so i hear) vid cards but at a large price difference. they are both sli ready so there is room for improvement on each.

here they are:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4128445&Sku=P450-9616

i am on a budget and both cards will work for me but to be honest id like the nicer one i just want to know if the extra cost is getting me more then what ill pay for or if i might as well just stick with the gforce 9600

The 9600GSO is a nice entry level card. It's good for low end systems and light gaming. If you're looking to play any of today's newer games, you would be disappointed with it's performance. I wouldn't suggest getting anything lower than a 9800GT for a gaming rig. The GTS 250 is a great performing card and should last you a while. It's well worth the extra cost.

Yeah, the GTS 250 will last you a long time. I need to upgrade soon I think.

ill upgrade my video card when the RV870 core comes out, and if the previews of it are true. its gonna be one hell of a graphic card :D

i've already got $107 in an account to save for it. xD

How much is that monster going to cost? :D

Well they say its going to be the first directx 11 card, it might have a dual core die, and it might put out 150GBs of bandwith

But ATI has pulled back on releasing specs after nvidia released the GT300's specs. I cant wait till it comes out though.

OMG, that would be incredible. I "might" have to get one of those even if I can't afford it. Lol.
