That should hold you up. If you're not gaming, even these parts will be overkill.

Since you're not gaming.

1) The processor is fine. It's overkill really. You can easily get away with a dual core, or even a single core.
2) The video card you choose isn't worth it. Why spend so much when you're not going to use it? You could just use the onboard video and save yourself $300+.
3) 8GB of RAM won't give you any extra performance unless you're editing. Stick with the 4GB you have at home.
4) An 800 watt power supply is too much. You could get away with a 500 watt.

i still game but not so much... i dont want some pos if you know what i mean...

ill prolly stick with the 4 gig but i want the gfx card coz its sexc and want to be able to play new games like farcry2 and other new games that come out...

and i want to psu because i dont want to be restricted by power.. i would rather have more than less if you know what i mean...

but will it all be compatible is my question?

btw thx all for you help and support :p

It's your money.

1) A 4850 will perform as equally/better than the card you chose, at your resolution. It's not going to fully be utilized because of the low resolution.

2) A power supply with too much power is bad. You get more power wasted and more heat throughout your system.

oh ok thx...

well if i did change to the hd4850 what power supply would you get considering all the other components that i got?

thx

You want a good quality power supply. The flower one you had was most probably a very low quality one. The one I previously posted should do you fine.
