so right now i have 4gigs of ddr2 533mhz ram....ugh and a pentium 4 3.4ghz with a stick intel/hp mobo, however soon(once the money comes in from work, its also split between getting my license and saving for college, so it might take a little while), i will be upgradeing to these:

mobo:

cpu:

ill also have to get a psu upgrade too, but when i do that ima buy a new case at the same time, cuz this hp one bores me to death

That board is a waste of money. You might as well order from Newegg Canada and get an i7 system, or at least a Phenom II rig.

can you order from newegg.ca?

no

can't because im not ordering online im picking it up in store

Why do you need such an expensive motherboard? I'd go with a P45 chipset personally. You could use the $100 you saved towards a better CPU or GPU.

ok for that board but the cpu leaves no room to buy ram, if im buying ddr2 tho i want 8gb of 1066mhz

im sticking with the 199 dollar cpu and maybe ill use that money towards a psu and case

You won't see any real life difference from 800 and 1066 unless you're overclocking your CPU to the brink of burning. Why do you want 8GB of RAM? Unless you're video editing, it's overkill. 4GB is more than enough.

I have 8 gb of ram and the max i've used at one time (playing gta iv, running bit comet, playing itunes) is 2.8gb.

And with all of the editing you did with your Single Core P4 HT your still not going to need 8gb of ram at all
