Move the files of an installed program to a different location or hard drive without it affecting the program itself?

Yes as long as you change the shortcut files to the new file directory.

Hmm, what about programs reading the instructions of files? Would there be a problem? Like, I've got some files of a game that are installed on C .. but perhaps the program reads them from that location and would need to change the instructions which would take forever? I don't know, but I don't want to screw this up ^^
