The primer looks really uneven to me.

It got uneven when I sanded it down. I'll throw a few more coats on there when it stops raining here.

He is going to spray several layers. Thats how painting i supposed to be done. You keep going until it matches.

You don't primer plastic with the same primer you use on metal.
You should remove all plastic parts and prime them separately with the proper primer.
And your work should be eyeball high so you can get to all the surfaces evenly.

That's what I did. I'm using a different primer by the same company. I can't really work eyeball high, I don't have a nice workshop or anything.

You don't need nothing fancy. Sit it up on a trash can. Couple of saw horses and some plywood.
