This is (hopefully) going to be used for mainly gaming, listening to music, browsing the web.

The games i own and hope to play on my system include: Crysis, Dead Space, Fallout 3, GTA IV, Doom 3, Devil May Cry 4 and i plan to purchase COD 4 later on.

Can you reply A.S.A.P, and advise me if this setup will allow me to play these games on high settings, and smoothly.

okay, so these are the components:

will all of these things work together? is this all i need to set up the components right out of the box?

aside from keyboard and mouse, of course.

thanks in advance for helping, guys :)

I think it's pretty pointless going with C2Q system that expensive. If you're going to spend that much you should go with i7.

If you're only playing games and you don't need the increase in performance that i7 has over Phenom II in other applications, you could save some money and go with Phenom II.

CPU: Phenom II 940. (I would have picked the 955 but the increase in price isn't worth it IMO. 190 vs 245)
Motherboard: Biostar 790GX
Memory: 2x2GB DDR2 1066
GPU: The GTX 260 you picked out is the standard 192 SP version. There are 216s available for the same price. MSI 260 Core 216
The 790GX doesn't support SLi though so you could go with a 750a board and keep the 260s, or you could go with the 790GX board and two HD 4870 1GB cards. Both platforms would perform around the same with the GTX 260 setup perhaps edging it slightly. Overclocking would be much better on the 790GX platform if you're into that kind of thing though.

You could save some money on the PSU as well, it's a bit overpriced for this system. Xigmatek 650W.

And if you're going with an expensive sound card like that, you'd need a much better set of speakers to fully notice the difference over onboard.

No offence, but i didnt actually ask for you to look for components for me. all i asked is:

will these things work together?

and

will they play the games i've listed, on HIGH settings, running smoothly?

Yes, they will work together. I was just trying to help you because you're spending way more money than you need to and actually getting less performance for it (Going with the 192 GTX 260 instead of the 216)

ok, great.

is there any way i can increase the performance without using a different motherboard?

i really like the features on this one :)

Seriously,it's a motherboard.

You are really just burning money going with a rig like that.I Would listen to worshipme,he knows what he's talking about.

actually, i took a look at the 750a board and it looks fairly similar to the one i selected, in terms of ports.

i might actually go with the things you're suggesting...

all of this seems a bit......cheap. are you sure it will give a "kickass" performance (gamewise)?

It will perform roughly the same for hundreds of $$ less. Even better if you overclock.

Will you be going with 750a/GTX 260 SLi or 790GX/HD 4870 CF?

Yeah as I stated in the last post you had that you will get the same or better performance out of the phenom II or the I7. I definitely don't suggest building a system around a motherboard but more on the CPU. The Phenom II is the best bang for the buck processor on the market. I personally have the 920 which is the 940 BE's little brother and a 4870 that I use and it runs every game I play completely maxed out at 1680 x 1050 with no hiccups. *note thats not crysis and I honestly haven't even tried it but im definitely sure I can't run that maxed but im sure it will play at good enough frame rates...

Also i have the 940 BE Clocked at 3.5Ghz with a OC'd 4870 and it runs any game i throw at it no problem! Were just trying to save you money :D
