Upload or Download?

Actually, it's a sideload.

Sideloading is a term used in Internet culture, similar to "upload" and "download", but in reference to the process of transferring data between two local devices, in particular between a computer and a mobile device such as a cellphone, smartphone, PDA, or portable media player.

Sideloading typically refers to media file transfer to a mobile device via USB, Bluetooth or by writing directly to a memory card for insertion into the mobile device.

Haha, I'm just going to go 'sideload' something now. That sounds wrong...

I thought about adding a poll but didn't bother. Can you add one into the post?
I poked around and I don't see where I can. You should be able to though.

I have heard both and I think both are technically correct; it depends on which way you view it. However, I would say that uploading is definitely the most used and accepted. This probably has to do with the fact that the word "download" is almost always associated with the word "internet". Since the "camera" != "internet", people use "upload" and not "download"

Computer perspective:
Camera -> PC: downloading
PC -> Camera: uploading

Camera perspective:
Camera -> PC: uploading
PC -> Camera: downloading

I dunno about you guys but I use the force to transfer mine, works great, takes only a few seconds and I don't even have to remove the memory card from my camera....:)

BTW, I usually say I'm downloading them to my computer.
