i don't see why not, as long as it doesn't break the EULA or contain any kind of illegal activity "hacking" in terms of modifying should be ok.

from what I read, the twilight princess hack will work without the modchip if you only want the homebrew channel.
Just know theres a chance of bricking, though its like an .001% chance.
Nintendo might have an update that might block the homebrew channel later is they started to see something they dont like.

well my dad bought it. so we wont play online so i dont worry about updates. Ill try it.

nothings done to the wiis firmware so bricking im pretty sure is impossible
all that happens is u install a 3rd party channel into the system mem
