Why on solid state drives does it show like 300Mb/s and on regular disk drives show like 3GB/s? Doesn't seem to make sense.

The methods of reading and writing on SSDs are called "sequential access". I would assume that a HDD just randomly looks for the information, and not on a given order. So, if my assumption is correct, the 300MB/s would be faster than the 3GB/s because the SSD is more effective.
