CPU temp concern

Well installed windows today and did abit of testing and I have a problem.

Coretemp at ide was around 40C.

Fired up Prime95 and around 5mins into the testing coretemps showed it was 74C+ so I decided to stop as I got worried, also note that I was using an Antec 1200 with all fans at full if it makes a difference.

What do you guys think it maybe, Im starting to get annoyed and thinking that thermalright sounds good, you think I should just buy a new HSF straight away or do you think there is a solution.

I will be overclocking but not right now so if I can get a HSF at a later date it would be helpful.

thanks.

There's something wrong with the way the stock cooler is mounted if it's hitting those temps under load.
1. Remove stock cooler.
2. Clean the CPU IHS and the cooler's base with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol and Q-tips (at least that's what I use). Something like a lint free cloth for cleaning glasses would be fine.
3. Reapply thermal compound using this method: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.p...sk=view&id=170&Itemid=38&limit=1&limitstart=3
4. Reseat cooler using this method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3tk...FC41DDF1D&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=6
