a lot of active people became a Guru faster than me. I think it took about 1 1/2 years for me to reach 1,000.

Make sure your posts stay relevant though. It's not common to see someone hit Guru and still only have one bar. Unless you reach guru with loads of bars of rep then have a big argument in various threads and get neg repped all the way to hell.
