I downloaded Damn Small Linux. I want to install it on another (old old old) computer I have. Its an ISO file...how do I do this? Ive currently got the old computers hard drive in my current one...(wanted to wipe it and format it). Ive been trying to send the file from my C drive to the F drive (f: is old pc's HDD)...i dont know, im lost.
I want to play around with linux n see what its all about.

First of all, you cant copy a .iso to a hard drive and install it like that.

You need to burn the .iso ti a cd. More commonly known as burning as image.

Search google for a porgram to do that. Infrarecorder is a free one, it works.

Then, put the old hard drive into the old computer, put the CD in the drive and run it.

i just tried that...burt as an iso file, put the HDD and the optical drive in the old computer. Set BIOS to see them...set BIOS to boot cd rom first...and nadda. I dont know whatsup man.
EDIT: Ive got 3 ISO type options in my burn program,
-ISO+Joliet (106 character file names)
-ISO+Joliet+UDF (106 character file names)
-ISO Level2 (212 character file names)

which should I select?

sonic...came with the system when I bought it in '06. Pretty good program as far as i can tell. I burnt the disc using the first one. I even unplugged my C: drive and tried booting from cd.

get an NTLDR is missing message

hah got it figured...using it right now. Was burning the iso as a data file.
