My friend is wanting a new rig, so I was looking at some parts, and this is what I got. He is going to stick with his current psu (500W), case, HDD, and DVD drive, just get the main upgrade.

I know the onboard video is kind of bad, but if he needs a better vid card he'll get it, he wants to see how this onboard runs first before he gets a better one (He isn't that big of a gamer, does flight sim and stuff)

So does this all look good and will it all work?

It'll all work. I don't know much about AMD boards so I can't tell you more than that.

take a look at this Kuma + Board

Also i have that exact chip.. And imo its amazing, as the sse4.1 instruction set so my encoding fps for dvds stays steady at 165fps. Worth alot more than $65. And dont believe what people say, the thermals are good. My load thermals: 57C @ 3010mhz, 15x muilti, prime95 11 hours stable Stock cooling

i could pm you my stock clock benchmarks and thermals if you want them
