though to be honest, I'm guessing that this was an old ipod, probably now broken beyond economic repair

Oh yes.....forget about your finger, that thing would zip your leg off like it's cutting hot butter. If it can cut through several inches of solid steel then a human body is a cakewalk.

And it's not just water, it's water mixed with an abrasive like sand or garnet and it's coming out of the tip at around 90,000 psi for the newest machines.
