Car Thread!

ya minivans..i remember a time when any family with more than 4 people was almost guaranteed to own a minivan.

I wouldn't ever consider owning a minivan.

WHAT?? I've always liked the new Honda Odyssey. I mean it looks mean as hell especially if you drop it a couple inches and throw on some big 18" SSR Professor sp1's. Not your typical soccermom's minivan! I know dropping it defeats the purpose of a minivan but hey, you can always get an airbag suspension ;)

About smart cars above:

They are probably the safest of those size cars, but thats it. They hardly get better MPG than some other much larger cars (such as a ford escort or focus) and they also require premium fuel. This alone cancels out the extra savings in MPG if not costing more. Ontop of that, they are also about 16,000 I believe. For 16,000 you could buy much more of a car (such as said focus or corolla etc.)

With all that siad, I am not attacking any lovers of the smart car, just showing it's downfalls, in my opinion at least.

Well it has the best fuel efficiency of any regular gasoline engine car...

33 city and 41 highway. A Focus is 24/33. Estimated annual fuel cost of the smart is $897, for the Focus $1,060.

The smart starts at $12k. Focus at $15k.

Sure, the Focus is a lot more of a car, but the smart really isn't bad at all for a secondary daily driver. I think it's sort of an icon for some people too, like having an iPod. The Zune has more features, but the iPod is "cooler".

Ford Fusion is rated at like 44. Have you all seen the ads for it? I think it's a V6 too. Electric motor runs til like 42mph though.

I still would never buy or drive a Smart car. They just look too stupid.

I wouldn't either.

Pics are a little brighter than they really are.
