Personally i'd go for a monitor without speakers, or tweeters as they should be called.

You can always turn those off. They are basically in the same price range. The ASUS has better specs.

and +, the reviews on the one he sent me had like 1.6k people saying to buy it, even though it had speakers...

As long as the speakers aren't actually visible (i.e at the bottom or back of the monitor), I see no problem in them, but if they ruin the overall look of the monitor, with the horrible grills, they can put me off.

Just save up for a real surround system with much better quality. Your current speakers will do you fine. Don't get a monitor just for the speakers.

I agree with some people here. If the speakers are visible on the monitor. It ruins it alot...
