Why is Communism Bad?

Americans probably don't like communism, because as already stated, it has never worked out. And no body will work hard to do better, what's the point?

Also, it's common belief that, most people can do above average. Which of course, is imposable

American's don't like communism because all of us were born free. Having our freedoms taken away, being able to do what we want when we want, buying what we want, etc. are things we cannot fathom being taken away. We cannot think of being equal. Everybody is independent/different in some way, communism destroys that. Humans are not meant to think alike, we all have different opinions which is what makes us great. Genetically people want to be better than others, that's what makes the world, the world. There are people that don't want to work, thus sit at home and get paid minimum wage. Then there are those who work, and get rewarded. In communism, those two, effort or not would be equal.

Communism sucks balls, it's dumb, and hinders people. That simple.

From what I remember, I was able to do the same exact thing in China as I did in America. I did what I wanted to do, when I wanted to, buy what I want, etc.
The only difference I see is that in China and America is the wage they make from jobs.
So the only reason I see why Americans hates China is because of the money making.

America isnt all the free.
No Offense, its just my experience so far.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) just assigns jobs. Communism seems to work there, but they have some SERIOUS human rights issues there.

1) You don't understand North Korea
2) Communism doesn't work worth a damn there either. It's a bastardised form of Communism/Socialism hybrid called "Juche".

communism does not promote economic growth.
that's why china is the world fastest growing economy?

Communism has failed every time it was tried.
Cuba?

companies are owned by the government
communism states nowhere that you can't have personal possessions or ambitions, you're allowed to own your own company, you;re allowed to make money at it.

in fact lots of people in china do own their own businesses.

and businesses are allowed to grow, here is an example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifan

umm, again, Cuba, communism seems to be doing OK there.
so far as working harder to do better, the motor company that I linked above, that started as a bike repair shop and now is a global automotive manufacturer says that people do still work hard and do still better themselves.

so, that's a few myths dispelled about communism.

I believe that the main problems in/with China are it's human rights record. policies like one family one child, suppression of information, suppression of the media, mass poverty caused by the distribution of wealth, (mostly in rural areas, cities tend to be affluent).

it's not that communism is bad, and it's not that it suppresses peoples ambitions. rather that it goes against general human nature to be at the top of the pile.

however, we could say the same about capitalism, surely striving to be at the top no matter what goes against human nature to be compassionate?

the point is that no system is perfect, each has it's downfalls.

(edit: before anyone says it... yes, I know that Cuba is a small island, and that this is the only proven case where communism works, and plenty of people say that this is actually helped by various trade embargoes that should stifle the regime but have in fact furthered it. I know that communism is only ever proven to work in this one single case).

so the only actual reason why Communism is bad s because it doesnt work?
huh, thought there would have been another reason.
Well, I would suggest closing this thread before theres any flaming and argument and gets out of hand.
Just wanted an answer
lol wut? That's a pretty good reason right there. ???

In what way does communism seem to work in North Korea?

I was referring to the fact that it hasn't collapsed yet, and that they are somewhat (not completely) self sufficient, although they don't have enough food to feed all of their people sometimes.

I guess you could say that it doesn't work there.
