On topic, I would add RAM, defrag the HD, maybe run disk cleanup etc. I use Tune Up utilities and that works great, but its not free. CCleaner, or Glary's Utilities work really well to speed things up like defraging the registry, optimizing your PC settings and such. Make Windows appearance more performance rated then appearance.
