Science Fair Project - How A Network Works

Hey Everyone,

So we've decided on a topic of How A Network Works. Now, How would he explain this as a project? We're having a bit of a problem thinking of how we could explain this as a project

Suggestions?

I would introduce DHCP, DNS, WINS, LAN, WAN, and other similar concepts, explain their significance to networking, and try to figure out good analogies for them

Would he also introduce Ring Tokens? And those kind's of network setups aswell? Then give a brief history of networking and how it started,etc?
