Hey everyone, just would like final opinions on my hardware specs in terms of overall power and longevity.

Thanks,

Kyle.

OS: 64bit Vista Home Premium -eventually Windows 7
Motherboard: haven't decided Asus P6T or the Deluxe
Heatsink: CoolerMaster V8
Processor: i7 920
Ram: G.Skill 3x2 = 7-7-7-18
HD: WD Caviar Black 640 gigs 32 mb cache
Optical Drive: Samsung DVD/LightScribe
PSU: OCZ 700watts modular, 3 rails
Video card: currently 8800gt eventually one gtx 260
Sound: remains onboard for now
Case: Antec 902

Personal note to dell: FU, 1000 bucks :)

Further improvements later to be made:

RAID 0
gtx 260
coolermaster v10-12
12gigs
etc

You'll only need 12GB RAM if you plan to produce your own music, do lots of video editing, or both.

The DAW's, video editing software and plug-ins will love the extra resources.

Or if you want serious bragging rights :D

Looks like a stellar build!

I'm assuming that you are going to wait to do Raid 0 when you get Win7?

In time I will, I just don't have the money currently. Right now, I just want to get this up and running :D

Ah..I see. Good plan, but I'd back up important files often with Raid 0--it means twice the likeliness of a drive failure!

I do lots of photoshop and illustrator with CS4 on my machine, so thats why I have the 12GB ram :) VERY fast and effective! All of the CS4's load up so nice and quick!
