Would this work? GPU/MOBO

EDIT: TITLED THREAD WRONG.
Fumbling around at the idea of fitting (if all possible) Three 4870 GPU's in a Gigabyte GA-EX58 mobo, I'm wanting to run multiple monitors. Monitor sizes would be 22" or 26". Also if possible, what kind of PSU would be ideal to run these safely.

I would say you need at least 1500W. It depends on whether you are using three 4870's or three 4870x2's.

um, no, 1500w would be overkill for just about any system you could think of, a good 1000w psu should be fine, even a good 850w (like an Antec Signature 850w) could probably do the trick depending on what else you're running...

No way! Three gpus and more than one monitor? Each 4870x2 uses 439W on load! Thats 878 right there for two. One more and you will need 1500W at least. He may not be wanting 4870x2's but even if he doesn't I would still say get a 1200W psu to be safe.

um, yes way, that load figure is for the whole system power draw, you can't just triple it, anyone running those types of video cards is running some other power hungry components as well which add to the total power draw making that first figure high, those numbers are not just for the card itself...

also, the OP never mentions 4870x2s (which for scaling purposes would be pretty useless, even scaling for crossfired 4870x2s is questionable), he only mentions three 4870s, which draw less power, a system with three 4870s could be handled by a 850w-1000w psu, you do realize that everyone can't just buy a 1500w psu, slap it into a high end system and run it in their home and expect it to draw that much of a load from their outlet, don't you...? read some 1500w+ power supply reviews and you'll see that the average home electrical outlet wouldn't be able to handle it at full load...

i'd be using plain 4870's not 4870x2's, sorry for any confusion. so like a 900 watt PSU would do?

I said 1500W to be safe but if he is just running 3 4870's and not 3 4870x2's then I believe that he can run these cards safely with a 1200W psu.

Jarlmaster... 1500w cant be ran safely in a home unless you know what your doing and still then it's dangerous and you will probably have to do some major re-wiring in your house to handle that amount. 1000-1200w shouldnt be fine.

If you dont mind me asking, Do you you mind posting your whole setup? It would help us determine how much power you will need.

Just a future build im wanting to do:
CPU-i7 940
Mobo-Gigabyte GA-EX58
Memory-OCZ 6gb (3x2gb)
PSU-I guess i will be going with a 900watt
HDD-Western Digital Velociraptor 300gb
GPU- 3 4870's
Case- i have no idea, if you could suggest any fine cases i would welcome that

Yes there would. But you wont be able to fit anything else in the other slot's available. They are complete monsters.
