How do I get to uinstall a program if my control panel isn't showing up? My control panel is completely empty. I need to uninstall avast home edition (cause the registration ran out and I dont wan't to wait to register) to install AVG free.

Right-click on start/explore/Click on Local Disk C: /Show hidden files and folders, and go to program files. From here it should show within the list.Delete it. Also try start/run/regedit/ click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Click on SOFTWARE folder, and it may be listed there as well. Right-click and delete.

There should be an uninstaller in the Avast program folder.

I'm not sure what you mean about your control panel is empty. When you go to Control Panel, there are no listings within it?

You could also install a program called CCleaner. It has a function that will allow you to uninstall your software.
