When I open Windows Update, it takes me to google

So I click start, go to all programs, go all the way to the top and click on Windows Update. This is what my system presents me with. (if you are wondering I AM on Windows, just with a Linux liek theme, so don't say "You can't use windows update on ubuntu" I know, I am not trying to. )

they'll have a link to check for updates and stuff

It has something do you with your homepage...search Microsoft Update on Google

You have something in your system redirecting your browser. Been doing any "downloading" lately?

I would suggest downloading and running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

Ya I don't have any anti-virus or anti-spyware programs on my PC, I feel they bog down my system...I'll try going that route and seeing what I can find.

I kinda had a simular problem with what you had...except it had Malware on my pc...Atomic is right...it could be Malware

If you're doing any downloading or visiting "sketchy" websites, then it would be a very good idea to at least have a basic anti-virus program such as AVG Free. It will not "bog down" your system in the least and you'll be protected from any viruses or malware that can get through in your downloads.
