New HD installed

I just physically installed my new 500GB HD. When I go into disk management, it says I must initialize the disk with "use the following partition style for the selected disks" with "master boot record" checked off" do I just hit OK at this point and let it do its thing? If not, what should I do?

You have to format it in NTFS.

Actually, I don't have the answer. Someone has told me I do need to leave "master boot record" checked off" unchecked. Is that true? If it is, can I just delete the partition and do it again?

If I delete it, will it revert to unallocated space when I do?

I think that's correct as the MBR (master boot record) is on the previously installed drive. If it's working good, there would be no reason the delete the partition. if you do delete a partition, it's does revert back to "unallocated" space.
