TV Infared issue

I know this is slightly off subject, but my 1 month old Philips 42 LCD tv is messing with the infrared signals, and is blocking my receiver remote, i know this because when i turn the tv off my receiver remote works just fine, but when its on, it wont work, this all started today

The power supply MIGHT Be Interfering with the IR Signal,I would take it back on warranty because it would be something wrong with the TV.

apparently this is a semi known issue, and when the tv is dimmed it interferes with the IR for some reason, so i swapped it back to a brighter mode and it works again, im still thinking about taking it back

Did you install the ferrite cores on the power cord for your TV? Usually they come with them... They look like this.

no it didnt come with them, could that cause it?

Well it says in the manual for my 50" samsung plasma that unshielded cords may cause "noise" but I'm not sure if that's for any device near it, or just the TV itself...
