In a video game, do you win it, or do you beat it?

In most games you would say you "beat" the game. But when it comes to sports games and the like, you could say you "won".

But would you say you won the Bears, or would you say you beat the Bears? Speaking of the you as the Packers of course.

For me:

I "beat" the game (if it's an FPS or somethin like that)
I "won" against TeamX (for sports)
I "won" the race (for racing, obviously)

But then again, I don't game much so I don't really care haha.
