Also no don't threaten your kids... Ever.. You don't want to be feared.
You want to rule yet not be feared. Some would disagree it's better to be feared then to rule. But in the child's eyes... It's better to rule over them not to instill fear.

PS- I am currently logged on to the computer after coercing my son to type in the password for me in return for raising his allowance; would you believe it? I dont want to log off so that I have to ask him again. Please assist me. Thank you.

I would never do that in return for screwing me over. To logon to xp, I would always start up in safe mode, log in as administrator, and change the password. Password recovery isn't as simple as that, and I don't know if that trick works in vista.

This otta do the trick. Every time you ask for the password, and he refuses to give it to you, send him to the porch for an hour. if he keeps it up, he sleeps on the porch. and just keep adding the time. i promise it will work.
