I have some 8GB and 10GB ones from around then. All of those still run, as well as a 20+ year old quantum.

Mine from 2000 (with windows me) has a 16GB drive, and it was a really cheap one.

I'd have to dig out the receipt. I bought it at a "computer show" so I got a good price on it.

Many, many years. I used to have an old Maxtor drive that was originally purchased new in 1998 that's still going strong to this day.

Good to here it could last that long. I have a 10 year old WDC wd100AA, which I have never heard of 10GB that hasn't had any issues. Could it de a western digital drive?
