Ok Guys,

Ive renewed my broadband package and they have changed my IP address.

this has caused a few problems as i have a webserver running on my computer.

Heres the problem.

My IP address is.

93.97.26.21

and i have my .co.nr domain set to goto that IP address as here.

321.bmp

the thing is if i use my domain http://benjordan.co.nr/ then it takes me to the web site. if i use my IP address it takes me to my router homepage?

i have benjordan.co.nr working thats not a problem but i have a second .co.nr of http://djskeepa.co.nr/ and when i forward that to http://93.97.26.21/dj/ then it comes back with.

123.bmp

i have even tried doin it to 93.97.26.21 the exact same place as the benjordan but it comes back with the same error?

Note. the above pictures are hosted on my webserver using http://benjordan.co.nr/123.bmp but if i try http://93.97.26.21/123.bmp it doesnt work?

ive also tried all forms of http://93.97.26.21:80/123.bmp and it doesnt work.

Sounds like you don't have your router forwarding to your web server on port 80.

Hi,

Here's a question for you when you set up your domain names did you by them or did you set them up with a service like dyndns.com? If you used bought the domains then you will always need to use the domain names. This is because the site is just looking for the ip of the server computer.

If you used a service like dyndns.com the service take your address and allows you to take that ip and turn it into a domain name. Then you just set up the name that you want and it will allow you to enter the domain name and take you to the site, and you can use the internal ip and you will be taken to the site, too.

If I am wrong about any of this please correct me but I am pretty sure that that is how it works.

Just a thought about the site. It is very sleek and looks nice but you might want to put at the bottom copy right your name, and then something like <a href="Ssc456@hotmail.com>Contact Webmaster</a> This would look more professional then leaving you email out there. Just a thought.

Cheers!
