Firewire Doesn't Work...

I tried to connect my little 160GB USB/FW hard drive and it doesn't work. I plug it in, it gets power, but nothing shows up on the computer. What the hell? I noticed it doesn't work in Vista or OS X, which it has before. It connects just fine through USB, but not Firewire. I haven't done anything different to the BIOS or anything. I have 2 FW ports and neither of them work.

Hit up the device manager and see if theres any drivers that need updating.

Are the firewire ports enabled in the BIOS?
