Change motherboards and Windows won't boot

To repair an install pop the OS CD in and boot from it.

Go through the options as if you were installing a fresh OS.

When you accept the terms and conditions it'll check for a previous install.

Highlight the the current OS install and press 'R'. The option should be there.

It'll delete all the OS files and replace them.

The most important thing is that it will configure the install to your new motherboard and keep all your files too.

Ya I have tried that, the R doesn't show up.

And to AtomicRooster, are you saying I am going to have to swap motherboards again? O god I want to kill someone.

Just tried to do the recovery console then do "bootcfg" but then it whined at me about some corrupt file or some trash, said to run chkdsk, so I'm doing that now.

Success! I did the recovery console, bootcfg, and then put in the XP cd, and repair was an option! It is "installing" now!
