Obama sending troops to afghanistan?

I thought his pledged was to bring the troops home but he is now sending more?

If I'm not mistaken he wanted to bring troops home from Iraq and send some to Afghanistan. The reason behind the thought process is that the "terrorists" are in Afghan and not in Iraq. He'll have to maintain some troops in Iraq though.
