What parts should i start looking first? Motherboards? CPUs? How can I tell this item is good not based by brand?

When you say first, do you mean you are ordering parts separately? Your motherboard and CPU have to be able to work together, so I guess I would start with those. If you haven't heard of http://www.newegg.com, that is your best bet. You can read reviews by other people about products to know if they are quality or not, and newegg also has very good customer service. Good luck!

Also, take a look at TigerDirect.com and MicroCenter.com

Microcenter is cheaper than Newegg and you can pick it up locally if you have a store near you. Otherwise, just ship it.
