RAID Question

OK, so I am getting a second hard drive to run RAID 0 and I was wondering if you can set up a RAID 0 format with data already on one drive. Or will that just mess everything up? Help please.

From what I hear you have to reinstall fresh.

From what I understand, you'll need to reformat the drive and start fresh when setting up a RAID array.

Just put all of your stuff on an external hard drive, or something.

yeah. i have an 8 gig flash, but that should be enough.

You could also use a tool like http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ and make regular scheduled images to your second hard drive and skip the whole RAID idea. =)

Ok. If you want to boot from this RAID array then you will need to do a full install and have a copy of the RAID driver on floppy or a flash drive.

Oh radio 0 ... heh.... Well just make sure that you data is backed up if you are going to run the stripe array!
