My 5 year old Yorkie has been acting crazy lately. He CONSTANTLY knocks over the garbage cans when we're not home. Leaving a huge mess in the kitchen, bathroom, and/or bedroom(s). We feed him a lot and different foods. I punish him, but nothing ever works. We feed him a lot and different foods. I can't trust him ANYWHERE. He won't listen when I call his name anymore (looks at me and goes back to what he was doing and won't come inside). I can't keep him in the laundry room, he will tear up the doors. I put the garbage can up, somehow he knocks it down. Gets in neighbors garbage when I let him out. Constantly gets sick, but never learns. I don't know how much more I can take of this. Help me... if there is any solution.

yea take him to the vet because of the getting sick problem. He may just need to be played with outside. Also if he continues to act like this, cage his butt

it's lack of socialization and training when he was younger. What he needs is proper discipline. It's your fault believe it or not.

It's just weird. He NEVER did this as a pup to about 4. However Separation Anxiety seems to make since. He, never did like being alone but, we have moved and our schedule has changed A LOT. He used to stay at a friends house with other dogs but, to a change he has to stay at our house (another symptom). However, we have had a lot of socialization with him and he knows the rules. We bought him in the summer as a pup so we could train him and play with him and we did. I spent countless hours training him, and we still play, love, and care for him. In fact everyone pets him almost constantly when we are home. We have displined him in every recommded way but, ask anyone who has a Yorkie, "Most are stubborn in older age."

YEa but if everyone pets him all the time, then there are hours on end where he's detached from any socialisation, he's going to show these signs. It's not the time together that's the problem it's the time apart. You're lucky i suppose because you're in a position to tackle it early and the symptoms are not as bad as some i've heard for this syndrome.

Call Cesar Millan, The dog whisperer......Dude is da man when it comes to dogs:D:D:D

He will teach you how to be the pack leader.....

ok i can suggest 3 things that worked with my dog that was acting similar.

1) give him lots of excersize. the problems may be due to too much enerfgy thatsd not being used.

2) socialise him with other dogs.

3) consider taking him to the vet for the "snip" hormones to crazy things to dogs.
