Apart from "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

I need to find a final answer to a question which seems very simple.
Vista Home premium, or
XP?

I'm building a rig with a 3Ghz dual core CPU, a 250gb HDD, a 9800GT, and a widescreen 19" tft monitor. So far the whole design process has been really simple but this is the only part thats bugging me. If we say dual boot is out of the question and you had to pick either XP or Vista HP, which would you pick and why?

errrm id have to say im fully vista'd now forget XP its all bout vista.

i mean of course my first option would be to dual boot but if i had to go for one of the other it would be vista.

but if you ask me if be planning for windows 7.

I'm going to stick with XP Pro.

Because I work with Cakewalk Sonar 8, Steinberg Nuendo 3, Propellerhead Reason 4, Ableton Live 7, etc, and as far as i'm concerned these DAW's, and my PlugIns, work very well with super stable XP Pro.

Even specialist music computers costing £1500+ will have XP Pro OS installed.

I'll change my OS when I really have too.

Whatever's cheaper, then get 7 when it comes out.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

If there's news that a New Microsoft Operating System is coming out in a few months and the Beta seems FANTASTIC (Have yet to try it myself) I would get XP Home 32bit OEM and then switch over to Window's 7 when it comes out. If I took my time to learn Linux, I would run that xP
