I liked 4 better than COD: World at War.

COD5 = Better Campaign. (also can't argue with Nazi Zombie Co-op).

I'm hoping for a modern warfare 2.

I can almost guarantee one.
Early reports indicate the next game will actually be called MWf2 and it's certain that (regardless of what title they settle on, bear in mind it may well be that one) the next CoD will be a follow on from CoD:MWf.

WW2 has a good storyline, but too many games are based on WW2. It's like your doing the same shit over again with Germany and stuff.
