I guess i gave my opinion based on how i like to run my pc's. Usually keep programs and software + OS on one partition....and then documents, music, pictures on another or external.

But yes...you could always put games/software on another partition.

Personally i like to run my software programs and OS on one partition and my files on another, with a weekly backup of the important files onto a flash drive. Including extra back ups when i'm at high tide with my work.
