Bought a cheap Chinese case that made my internal WD hard disk external. Everything functioned well until I accidentally dropped it. Then I bought a new WD internal hard disk (think it's the same one) but can't seem to get it connected to my PC. Whenever I plug it in i get the message that a usb to serial ata bridge device is connected and everything is ok, but can't seem to access or see the hard disk anywhere but device manager. It's not in my computer but I can see it in device manager listed as a USB device.

Am I missing a driver or something ? How come the previous hard disk installed in the same case worked flawlessly ? Any advice ? Thanks in advance, Ljupco

Ok.

Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.

In the big window click on Storage then Disk Management(Local).

If you see your drive here then right click on the drive block then format & partition.
