Need refresh my memory on Overclocking.

I was able to boot into Windows using these settings,

8 X 400 FSB = 3200
333/667= DD2 801

Trying to get that stable now, but no luck... Was able to do small fft's for 30 min with no problem, but using large and blend tests, cores 1 & 2 fail after 3 seconds.

I tried setting Vcore from 1.2200v (auto bios) to 1.26875v (bios). CPUz shows as 1.296v (Idel) & 1.264v (load) with everything else default, but no luck. I then tried increasing the NB from 1.33v (bios) to 1.41 (bios) with the same settings, but that didn't work ether. I then lowered NB to default and increased VTT from 1.100v to 1.200v keeping Vcore at 1.26875 (bios) but it failed again. Can someone give me some pointers here with what I should be messing first...etc? Thanks

Looking at pic #2 what is the difference between “SB Core PLL Volt” & “SB 1.05v Volts”, when people say increase your SB volts, which one are they referring too? Also do I need to set my timings manually? My ram: G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 (1066) 5-5-5-15 2.0v-2.10v
My mobo: DFI UP LT P35 FSB = 1333/1066MHz Memory Standard DDR2 800
CPU: Intel Q9450 2.66GHz FSB 1333MHz 45 nm

Realtemp or Coretemp both use the correct TjMax.
-What test should I run first in prime95 and for how long?
I usually accept a boot into Windows as a pass whilst I'm in the process of OC'ing, then I'll run P95 small FFTs when finetuning. And then finally a blend for an overall stability check.
Small FFTs for max CPU stress
Blend for CPU, memory, NB.
-I know that OC has lots do with your RAM & timings, what ratio & timing do I need to set my RAM before I start messing with Volts,FSB..etc
Just run 1:1 and set your RAM to it's standard timings. Get your CPU OC down first before you mess with the RAM. And when you're finished, you'll want to leave it at 1:1, bandwidth won't be any higher if you increase the RAM frequency from here because of the FSB bottleneck. I usually just lower the timings once I've got my CPU OC finished.
-What are the max Volts for the fallowing: VTT, NB Core Volt, SB Core/CPU PLL Volt & SB 1.05v Volt. Here is the SS of what I'm talking about, I don't want to raise something to high and kill the MOBO. VVT: Stock is 1.1V. I'm running 4.1GHz at 1.1V and I doubt you will need to touch this. Just remember to set it to 1.1V manually and don't leave it on auto or the motherboard will increase the voltage itself.
NB: Stock is 1.25V, you may find you need to increase this slightly once you reach the higher FSB speeds. You probably won't need to go above 1.4V.
SB core: Don't mess with this and just set it to it's stock (lowest) value.
CPU PLL should be 1.5V.

I just finished the memtest86, been doing it for the last 17h or so and no errors. Just to confirm there is no configuration necessary for memtest right? I mean just boot from CD and let it test right?

Now that I know that my RAM is fine I can start working on the OC. Do I need to run all 3 tests in Prime 95 in order to know if my PC has a stable OC or not? I know I have to do small fft's & large fft's, but do I need to do the blend? Also,the guide I found online for memtest is saying that if I have more than one core, (I have 4) I need to start a 4 prime95's, I guess the guides are old because from what I can see you have an option to run more than one instance by using only one prime95, just want to be sure im doing the right thing here.

Also can someone tell me what is a V DROOP and how do I find it.

Once you think you've got your CPU's OC nailed, run small FFTs. When you've think you've finished with the RAM, run large FFTs. And finally, to test the whole system stability, run blend.
And the newer versions of Prime95 (I'm running v25.6) will automatically run 4 worker threads if you have a quad.
Also can someone tell me what is a V DROOP and how do I find it.
Vdroop is the difference between the in windows idle Vcore and the load Vcore, voltage will often droop going from idle to load. My P5K used to get it really bad, that's why I pencil modded it.

That's pretty good, a lot better than my P5K was.

Yes, set the ratio to 1:1 to eliminate variables and get your max CPU OC first before you start on the RAM. Set all voltages manually, and increase the FSB in small jumps. I usually take a post into Windows as a pass, as soon as it fails to boot into Windows, I increase the voltage and try again. It's really just trial and error.

if you're running 8x400, then that's perfect for 800mhz DDR2 RAM, your FSB is 1600 (400 quad pumped) and your RAM should be able to run at it's native speed since it's double pumped (double data rate, DDR2), 2x800 = 1600...

you should have your 1:1 ratio...

It's still all a bit confusing for me, so to clarify this, the option I need to set my ram too is #2 in the pic 200/800 right? And that will have my ram running at 1600 speed? no cant be... It's 1066 stock, what am I missing here?

So I did 400/800 = 1600 8X400 = 3.2ghz and it didnt post. :( I tryed doing 266/667 and it posted, but then quickly BSOD.
 
dont fuck with ram speed atm..should leave it on auto to check stability. with 1:1 ratio your gonna have to overclock ram also becasue the speed of it is slow and its 5-5-5-12 timings.
