I think you are mistaken mate, do a search of the member list, by join date
going back from today and you have to go through 5 pages to get to the first member to get a red bar.

Yeah I have to agree most of the new members I see with red bars definitely earned them...If the posts that I have seen by them are the reason for the red bar its definitely warranted... I don't think anyone is giving out neg rep for bad information or asking questions Its due to being rude or spamming...

Nah it's not you, I myself agree. I see some of the newer members getting neg rep for no reason, I've seen a couple, who I can't name off the top of my head who got neg reps and I don't even know why...
