i put 2 hardrives cause id like to put them both in raid 0, not sure what that means but i read that it will improve the loading times and stuff of my computer.

thx in advance for all the feedback!

what operating are you planning on using becuase if you're using windows vista you can have up to 8 gb of ram in that motherboard

Add about $80 more and get the GTX 295. You'll have one hell of a computer. You can upgrade to a quad core if you want. Many games are finally starting to utilize some of the extra cores.

cool thx alot guys! ok i still have a few questions tho....what powersupply should i get? like how many watts? so u guys think this build will be pretty much the best i can get for 1200 canadian dollars? i got advice from someone else and heres the build he made... tell me what u think? which do u prefer?

so here it is....which one wud be best for 1200 canadian dollars? and if u have a build of your own that u wud think is better than this one dont be shy to scrap mine a start from scratch...

Well, either one would be a great system. It is up to you. the main difference is a 45nm quad vs. a 45nm Core 2. Like I said, It all comes down to what you want and what you'll be using the computer for. The core 2 is a great OC'er but the new Phenom II's are also phenomenal OC'ers I would personally like the Quad Phenom II system but you should decide for yourself.

But you do need a power supply. This one looks good to me and will supply plenty of power. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009

I highly doubt he would ever need an 850W PSU for his build. Overkill if you ask me...

Might I suggest this OCZ 700W?

There's no point is spending $500 if your monitor is 19". You need to be running at least 1920x1200 to even consider such a high end card.

This stuff is from TigerDirect, right?

I would go with a quad over the dual. Quads are so cheap now and it's definitely worth it for the future as most of the new games coming out will be multithreaded.
I'd go with the Phenom II 940 BE.
A 790GX motherboard.
2x2GB 1066.

Like I said, the GPU will depend on your monitor's native res, so we need a little more information.

thx alot everyone, you guys are really helping me out. ok so i think im gna go with the AMD Phenom II X4 940 build. Hey worshipme that motherboard u recommend, does it support sli? cause with the gtx 285 or wtv maybe in the future id want to put 2...what do you think? as for the monitor i really dont know... i was looking at this one right here.. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051

will that be good enough for the gpu i chose? i dont wanna spend 400 bucks on a monitor tho so i dont know....let me know what u think. also should i even bother to get 2 harddrives? ill have enough space with 640gb but should i put 2 for better performance?

thx everyone:)
