If anyone can help I'd be very appreciative

Humor me and go in to msconfig. Turn off all non Microsoft start up programs.
Click apply then let it finish booting up. Then install the software that's giving you the error.
Oh and how big is your page file and how much ram do you have in the system total?

I have an idea. You download with FF right? Well have you changed the download location away from your primary HDD? That could be causing you the 'Cannot download because of insufficient space on HDD' errors.

You change the download location by . . .
1. On the menu bar, go to Tools > Options
2. If not already in the 'Main' tab, go to it.
3. Under the 'Downloads' section in the tab, locate either the 'Save Files to . . .' or 'Always Ask Me Where To Save Files'.
4. If you select 'Save Files to . . .' you must chose a location for the files to be saved to.

Hope I Helped!
