how do i boot my windows xp iso off a usb hard drive. my bios does support it

i also have vista, windows 7, server 2008. whatevers easiest

also i am only using ubuntu right now. so if it requires a program, a ubuntu (linux) port is perferred.

thanks alot guys

Have you TRIED another DVD drive? Using an external drive to boot an ISO image just seems like it's making this way harder than it needs to be...I searched for about a half hour for you last night, and I found nothing other than being able to boot Linux ISOs...I think you might need to just get a new drive.

Also, I know you said you burned/used 6 ISO cds, but if Linux boots, you still might have burned them wrong because Linux is a bootable ISO. If THAT works, then the others should work.

the thing is before this happened i had windows server 7 on before this happened. and server 7 beta is a 64 bit only OS. and ever since i formatted server 7 my dvd drive doesnt work. maybe the drivers screwed up the drive

also the only live cd that works is ubuntu x64. But vista x64 doesnt boot. just doesnt make since
